The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar looked set for a sweeping win, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on track to secure a fifth straight term, as early results indicated the coalition was ahead in 202 of the state’s 243 seats.

As early trends showed the Mahagathbandhan trailing, Congress downplayed the numbers. Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru said initial figures are not the final picture, adding that the party expects a free, fair and impartial counting process.
JJD chief and RJD rebel Tej Pratap fell behind in Mahua during the Bihar vote counting. As of 10:15 am, the LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate was ahead by 5,823 votes.
