Normalcy has not been attained fully in Jammu and Kashmir yet as terror attacks continue to take place but the process of establishing normalcy is underway, says Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday.
Referring to the Statement of Amit Shah, Abdullah told reporters, “I do not want to say anything on that (Shah’s statement). (But), today also, reports come from some places when attacks take place. Normalcy has not been fully restored in Jammu and Kashmir even today. It is a process and we will have to see what happens in the coming days.”
“There is nothing like that. Some media houses ran it but then corrected it. No such proposal is there and it anyways cannot happen without the consent of the Jammu and Kashmir government,” he added.
When asked about the government’s preparations in terms of the forecast of snowfall, Abdullah said the administration was ready to deal with it
“We will deal with it. We are prepared, we have had several meetings and we also have experience after the last snowfall. If there were any lacunae last time, we will correct that this time,” he said.
Amit Shah’s Statement
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that Article 370 sowed seeds of separations in the minds of the youth of Kashmir and that the Narendra Modi government not only wiped away the terrorists in the valley but also the ecosystem of terrorism.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said Article 370 sowed seeds of separatism in the minds of the youth of Kashmir and the Narendra Modi government not only ended terrorism in the valley but also the ecosystem of terrorism.
Shah claimed that Article 370 and 35A were the key hindrance in the way of full integration of Kashmir into India. He further said that Article 370 gave the false impression that Kashmir’s integration with India was not permanent.
“Many people often ask me what is the relation between Article 370 and terrorism. They don’t know that Article 370 sowed the seeds of separatism in the minds of the youth of the valley.
“There are Muslim populations in many other parts of the country. Why are those areas not affected by terrorism?” he said.
