High Court Grants Permission for Right-Wing Rally Against Alleged ‘Jihads’ in Hyderabad

Date:

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi will hold its “Dharma Raksha Sabha” at Ganesh Chowk in Balapur, Hyderabad Saturday following the permission granted by the Telangana High Court on Wednesday.

The organisation, last week,  announced a public rally, calling on the Hindu community to raise their voices against what it described as “love jihad,” “economic jihad,” “drug jihad,” “food jihad,” and “land jihad” — conspiracy theories promoted by far-right groups that have repeatedly been debunked.

Notably, the objection were raised by the congress government and moved to the High Court.

In a fresh statement, the Hindutva organisation described the court’s ruling as a “victory for righteousness” and said the rally would be led under the slogan “Jago Bhagyanagar – Chalo Balapur.”

“Thanks to the High Court and the lawyers who stood on the side of justice and presented the arguments. During the proceedings, the state government admitted that approximately 8000 Rohingyas are illegally residing in the Balapur area alone,” the statement reads.

“It could not provide the number of Bangladeshis. Lakhs of Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslim infiltrators have settled in Bhagyanagar. It is shameful that the state government, which has neglected the safety of the people, is concerned about the protection of illegal infiltrators,” it adds.

Following the ruling, the Hindutva organisation said it viewed the verdict as a “victory for righteousness” and stated that the rally would be organised under the banner of “Jago Bhagyanagar – Chalo Balapur.”

Meanwhile, the BGUS, which also organises the annual Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav in Hyderabad, has alleged that young Hindus are being pushed into substance abuse, that women are being lured into deceptive relationships leading to forced religious conversion, and that there is deliberate food adulteration and encroachment of temple land.
