IndiGo is gearing up to restart direct flights between India and China, with services to Guangzhou set to resume from October 26, 2025. The airline will operate daily non-stop flights from both Delhi and Kolkata to the Chinese city, marking a key step in re-establishing air connectivity between the two countries.
In an announcement on Thursday, IndiGo highlighted that these flights will be operated using its Airbus A320neo fleet and emphasized the role of this route in boosting trade, business collaborations, and tourism between India and China. The airline also mentioned plans to launch direct flights from Delhi to Guangzhou soon, pending regulatory approval.
Having operated flights between the two nations prior to the pandemic, IndiGo said its existing partnerships and experience will help it swiftly resume services. Pieter Elbers, IndiGo’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting India and mainland China through these direct routes, which he said will facilitate smoother movement of people, goods, and ideas, while strengthening bilateral relations.
Tickets for the Kolkata-Guangzhou flights will go on sale starting October 3, 2025, available through IndiGo’s website and mobile app. This move is part of IndiGo’s broader strategy to expand its international presence and enhance global connectivity.
