The Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday announced its fifth arrest in the firing case regarding Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence at Bandra.
According to the reports, the fifth accused, who was arrested, has been identified as Mohammad Chaudhary.
Prior to the arrest of Mohammad Chaudhary, Sagar Pal (21) and Vicky Gupta (24) were arrested by the Gujarat police from Kutch on April 16, 2024, in connection with the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai.
“The fifth accused in the case from Rajasthan, the name of the arrested accused is Mohammad Chaudhary. He helped the two shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, provide money and do recce. Chaudhary is being brought to Mumbai today where he will be produced in the court and demand for custody will be made,” says the report.
The arrest took place in the wake of a probe into a firing case that created the hubbub in the Bandra area of Mumbai.
The incident took place on April 14, when two assailants on a bike opened fire outside Bollywood actor Salma Khan’s abode, Galaxy Apartment.
The duo also fired shots towards Khan’s apartment before running away from the scene. The two shooters were apprehended by the police, and connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were revealed.
According to TOI, during their interrogation of Sagar Pal (21) and Vicky Gupta (24), the two men linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who were arrested for allegedly firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence on April 14, police were struck by a key detail: the accused were given Rs 1 lakh to rent a house in Mumbai and get a bike to carry out the attack, but were not promised a supari or a contract fee for doing the ‘job’.
