Addressing a public gathering on Tuesday at an event marking the centenary year of the RSS in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that while British and French colonialism are often highlighted in history, there is little mention of “political Islam,” which the CM claimed has inflicted the greatest blow on Sanatan Dharma.
“Our ancestors waged major struggles against political Islam, yet this aspect of history remains largely overlooked,” Adityanath said.
“Our ancestors fought not only against the British and French but also against political Islam; heroes like Veer Shivaji and Maharana Pratap stand testimony to this. There is talk of British colonialism, there is talk of French colonialism, but nowhere is there talk of political Islam, which undermined the faith,” Adityanath said.
Furthermore, the chief minister praised the RSS for its important role in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“While members of the Samajwadi Party, the Congress, and the INDIA bloc questioned the Ram Temple, RSS volunteers remained steadfast in their resolve that the temple would be built.
“The Sangh endured restrictions, and its volunteers faced lathi charges and bullets. Today, the magnificent Ram Temple stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment,” the chief minister said.
Announcement of Banning Halal Food
The Chief Minister in the event claimed that the profits of halal-certified products, which are now banned in Uttar Pradesh, were being used for conversion, love jihad, and terrorism.
“Our people should buy goods with GST bills and promote indigenous products. We must ensure that our money is not diverted towards anti-national activities,” he said.
“The sale of halal-certified products has been banned in Uttar Pradesh. I urge people not to buy such products. The money collected through halal certification is being misused for terrorism, ‘love jihad,’ and conversion activities,” the Chief Minister said.
On talking about the RSS centenary initiatives, the Chief Minister spoke about five important transformations: social harmony, family values, environmental protection, self-reliance through indigenous goods, and civic responsibility, terming them the foundation of a Viksit India.
“For a developed society and a developed nation, society must lead, and the government must follow,” he said.
The chief minister also lauded criticism at Samajwadi Party chief Akilesh Yadav, alleging that he, through his remarks on lighting diyas during the annual Ayodhya Deepotsav event, insulted the Prajapati community and Lord Ram.
“By opposing the lighting of lamps on Diwali, Akhilesh Yadav has proved that he hates Lord Ram, the deities, Sanatan Dharma, and its festivals. His statement is an insult to the Prajapati (Kumhar) community,” the Chief Minister said.
