A violent assault in Hapur district has sparked outrage and fear after three Muslim youths were brutally beaten with iron rods and sticks in what appears to be a communally motivated attack. The incident occurred near Paratapur on Tuesday as the victims were returning home from Pilkhuwa.
The victims, identified as Wasim, Rizwan and Aamir, were reportedly accosted by a group of men who allegedly demanded to know their names before launching a violent assault. Wasim, a resident of Kalchina in Ghaziabad, sustained critical injuries and remains hospitalized in serious condition. The other two victims were also injured, though their condition is said to be stable.
A formal complaint has been filed at the Pilkhuwa police station with the victims’ families naming four men Deepak, Nikhil, JJ Kant and Pankaj as the assailants. Wasim’s brother stated that the attackers appeared intent on killing and called for immediate arrests and strict legal action.
The daylight attack has left the local community shaken with residents expressing deep concern over rising insecurity. “There’s a climate of fear now,” one local villager remarked. “If such violence goes unchecked, it sets a dangerous precedent.”
Responding to the gravity of the situation, Hapur Superintendent of Police Kunwar Gyananjay Singh assured that law enforcement is actively pursuing the suspects and has launched multiple operations to locate them. “We are treating this matter with utmost seriousness,” he said. “There will be no leniency for those involved. The victims’ families will receive full support from the police.”
As the search for the accused continues, tension remains high in the area with calls for justice growing louder from both the victims’ relatives and local residents.
