Two Palestinians Killed by Israeli Forces in Gunshot after Surrender in West Bank

Date:

In yet another military raid, Israeli forces shot and killed two palestinian men identified as Al-Muntasir Billah Mahmoud Qassem Abdullah and 37-year-old Youssef Ali Youssef Asasa in west bank city of Jenin on Thursday, drawing renewed scrutiny of Israel’s operations in the territory.

The video which has made rounds on the internet shows the men coming from a building with their hands raised and moments later the two men are shot dead accompanied by gun firing sound.

Furthermore, the Palestinian Information Centre (PIC) reported that the Israeli forces pulled out the bodies of the departed souls.

Officers Publicly Praised for the Shooting

Following the gunfire, the Israeli National Security Minister,  Itamar Ben-Gvir, praised the officers involved, labelling the two men killed as “wanted terrorists”, drawing criticism from Palestinian officials.

 “Heinous Field Execution”

Condemning the killing, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates labeled it as, “ heinous field execution”, and as reported by the Siasat TV, further alleged it as violation of international law and human rights norms.

Israeli operations in Jenin were part of a wider campaign targeting armed factions throughout the northern West Bank, including Tubas and nearby villages. On Thursday, the military also used helicopters to assist ground troops in their continuing search efforts.

Violence across the West Bank has risen dramatically since the Hamas assault on southern Israel in October 2023 and the Israeli military campaign that followed in Gaza.
