Over 40 schools in Delhi including Delhi Public School RK Puram, DPS Vasant Kunj, G D Goenka, Paschim Vihar, The British School, Salwan Public School, Modern School, and Cambridge School received bomb threats in a string of an email, demanding a ransom of ₹24 lakh ( apex $ 30, 000), leading to evacuation and panic. No suspicious objects found so far and investigation is underway.
The bomb threats were reportedly received on Monday in the early hours, resulting in immediate actions from school authorities. GD Goenka School received its alert at 6:15 AM, followed by DPS RK Puram at 7:06 AM. An immediate evacuation of students was conducted to ensure their safety.
Officials confirmed that no suspicious objects have been found at any locations, but the threat emails caused major disruption. As a precaution, students and staff were evacuated, and the schools have been temporarily closed while investigations continue. Cybercrime teams are working to trace the email sender.
Responding to the bomb threats, Delhi Police mobilised resources like bomb disposal squads and dog units.Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi took to social media and posted. “After the daily incidents of ransom, murders, firing in Delhi, now threats of bombing of schools are being received. The law and order situation in Delhi has never been so bad before. The BJP -ruled central government has failed in its only task of providing security to the people of Delhi,”
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal slams Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi and posted on X, “The people of Delhi have never seen such a poor state of law and order. Amit Shah ji should come and answer the people of Delhi.”
