Popular French reality television star and social media influencer Marine El Himer, or Maren Al-Haymar, announced on Wednesday 2nd October, that she converted to Islam. She revealed that she converted months ago but did not disclose it.but she decided to make an official statement because of rumours being peddled among her fans.
She shared an Instagram post showing her reciting the Shahada in a Mosque. She captioned the post, “There are roads you have to take alone. No friends, no family, no partner. Just you and Allah.
Some of you know this, but many are still wondering; and although I am quite reserved on this subject, that I never officially declared it: I converted to Islam a few months ago”, she wrote.
“Those who follow my daily life know this (I may not be teaching you anything), but what is certain is the importance of sharing this part of me, as intimate and personal as it is, with those I consider like a second family today: YOU!
“There is no shame in converting to any other religion. It is a fundamental right that everyone should be able to practice freely,” she remarked.
“After a long year of back and forth, heavy and long administrative procedures, I can finally celebrate this little document which means so much to me: my Moroccan National Card,” she announced through an Instagram post.
Marine is quite popular on social media where she frequently shares her lifestyle, travel and adventure content.
