Man Accused of Planning Attack on Ram Temple Killed by Inmate while Asleep

Date:

A man, who was an undertrail terror attack suspect was bludgeoned to death by a fellow inmate using a sharp piece of stone, while he was asleep, inside a high-security ward of Neemka district jail in Faridabad in the wee hours of Monday, police said.

As per the reports by officials, Abdul Rahman, who hails from Ayodhya’s Milkipur, was attacked by Arun Chaudhary, who was shifted from Neemka Jail from Jammu and Kashmir, a few days ago, while he was sleeping at around 1 am to 2 am on Sunday. However, the officials got the cognizance of the incident this morning.

He had been lodged in the ward with two other inmates—Arun Chaudhary, alias Abbu Jatt (24), a resident of RS Pura, and Mohammad Shoiab (23) from Sophia—both hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, for the past about 15 days.

As the officials learnt about the attack, they arrived at the scene and started the investigation. The body was taken into custody and sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem.

Rahman, 19, was arrested on March 2, 2025, near Pali village while allegedly in possession of two hand grenades during a joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Faridabad Special Task Force (STF), and the Intelligence Bureau. Investigators claim he was part of a conspiracy to carry out an attack in Ayodhya and had allegedly planned to detonate the grenades at the Ram Temple. The investigation also revealed  that Rahman was in connection with Abu Sufiyan,– a terrorist associated with Al Qaeda.
