In a recent development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to lure seven of its Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) with an offer of Rs 25 crore each and a BJP ticket to contest elections. The alleged move is said to be aimed at destabilizing the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to social media on Saturday to reveal the purported attempts to bribe AAP MLAs. Kejriwal claimed that the unidentified individuals behind the bribery attempt also threatened to overthrow the current government.
The AAP leader expressed concern over the situation, stating that seven of his party’s MLAs were approached by unknown individuals. Kejriwal went on to caution that he, as the AAP convener, might soon face arrest in connection with the alleged bribery incident.
In response to these accusations, the Delhi BJP has vehemently denied any involvement in such activities. The BJP challenges the AAP to reveal the names of the seven MLAs who were allegedly approached with the bribe offer and disclose the identity of those behind the attempt.
The political standoff between the AAP and the BJP has escalated as both parties stand firm on their positions. The Delhi BJP’s challenge to disclose names puts the onus on the AAP to provide evidence supporting their claims.
