Ahead of the appearance of Jasir Bilal Wani, Delhi’s Patiala House on Tuesday received a bomb threat, which later turned out to be a hoax. As confirmed by the bar association, Delhi’s Saket ad Tis Hazari courts also received bomb threats on Tuesday, suspending the work for two hours. The threats however, turned out to be hoax and the courts are now functioning in a smooth manner.
Scenes outside Patiala House Court
High Security and Rapid Action Force (RAF) were witnesses outside the Patiala House Court following the threat. The vice president of the New Delhi Bar Association in, Patiala House, Navneet Panwar, reported that the threat was received by the email and sanitation exercise was conducted in light of it. Navneet Panwar, vice president of the New Delhi Bar Association in Patiala House courts, confirmed that a bomb threat had been received by email, following which a sanitisation exercise was conducted.
CRPF Schools Received Bomb Threats
Two schools of CRPF in the national capital also received bomb threats which as well were later found to be hoaxes.
“We checked both the schools thoroughly, and nothing suspicious was found. It was declared a hoax,” a senior police officer told news agency PTI.Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today conducted searches against the Faridabad’s Al-Falah University as part of its investigation in connection with the November 10 Red Fort blast case.
How did the Delhi Blast Happen?
“This evening, around 7 p.m., a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast injured some pedestrians and damaged some vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that fatalities have occurred,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said while talking to ANI.
“The blast took place in a slow-moving vehicle that came to a halt at the Red Fort traffic signal. There were occupants in the car. The blast damaged cars nearby,” said Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha.
Further investigation reveals that the owner of the car was identified as Mohammad Salman, in Gurugram, Haryana, who bought the vehicle in 2013 and sold the vehicle to another man, who further sold the car recently. However, the car is still registered under Salman’s name and has the nameplate of Haryana, according to the reports.
