Israeli Soldier Rams Vehicle Into Palestinian Man Offering Namaz

Date:

An Israeli reservist, carrying a rifle, rammed an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) into a Palestinian man who was praying by the roadside in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, the Israeli military confirmed.

The footage of the video demonstrates an Israeli man crashing into the Palestinian man, followed by the soldier yelling and gesturing at the Palestinian man to leave the area.

The Palestinian man was taken to a hospital following the incident but was later discharged and is now at home, as he did not sustain serious injuries. Majdi Abu Mokho, the man’s father, said his son is experiencing pain in both legs after the attack. He also alleged that the soldier used pepper spray on his son, though this is not visible in the video.

“Footage was received of an armed individual running over a Palestinian individual,” it said in a statement, as reported by NDTV World.

NDTV World further reported that the Israeli military also claimed that his weapon had been seized.

“The assailant is a known settler. He set up an outpost near the village, and with other settlers he comes to graze his livestock, blocks the road, and provokes the residents,” Mokho told AFP.

Meanwhile, the man was apprehended on Thursday night and is subjected to house arrest for 5 days.  AFP further reported, and NDTV World updated, that the same man had earlier opened fire inside the village, described by the Israeli Defense Force as a “serious breach of his authority.”

As of now, more than a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, and it has become the world’s most dangerous place for journalists in 2025, “silencing the press through killing, injury, and permanent disability.”
