Over 14,000 women and 9,000 men are said to be missing in Delhi in 2025 till December 15 this year, the data released by the Delhi Police said.
Out of the total, women account for around 61%, while men account for around 39%, the data shows.
As per the records, 14,389 missing people were traced this year, including 8,672 women and 5,713 men.
As per the data, 17,623 adults were included in missing in 2025. This consists of 10,020 women and 7,603 men, which makes 57% women and 43% men. The adults who are yet to be traced are 7450, including women accounting for 4367 cases, the Tribune reports.
As per the missing children, 4,212 were traced. This figure includes 3,019 girls and 1,193 boys. Meanwhile, 1,505 children remained untraced, of whom 1,127 were girls and 378 were boys.
Data released for 2025 shows that children aged 12 to 18 accounted for the largest share of missing cases in Delhi, with girls forming an overwhelming majority in this age group.
According to the age-wise break-up, 360 children aged up to eight years were reported missing in 2025, including 143 girls and 217 boys. Of these, 214 were traced, while 146 remain untraced.
In the eight-to-twelve-year-old age bracket, 444 children went missing, comprising 154 girls and 290 boys. Police were able to trace 362 children, while 82 cases are still unresolved, the data showed.
The highest number of missing children was recorded among adolescents aged 12 to 18, with 4,913 cases reported during the year. This included 3,849 girls and 1,064 boys. While 3,636 children were traced, 1,277 remain missing, according to official figures.
A comparison with 2024 indicates that the trend is not new. Last year, 24,893 people were reported missing in Delhi, including 14,752 women (about 59 percent) and 10,141 men (around 41 percent). Of these cases, 15,260 people were traced, while 9,633 remained untraced, the data showed.
