Pakistan has accepted US President Donald Trump’s invitation to join the Board of Peace for Gaza to support the effort to bring tranquillity to the onslaught-ridden Gaza. The invitation was sent by President Donald Trump to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, inviting the latter to become part of the body set up by the former to incorporate a peace agreement in Gaza to put an end to the genocide in the region and create a permanent peace.
“Pakistan would like to announce its decision to join the Board of Peace (BoP) as part of its ongoing efforts to support the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan under the framework of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
Pakistan, meanwhile, wished that this would lead to taking concrete steps and would eventually result in a permanent ceasefire and would augment the humanitarian aid for the Palestinians.
The FO said Pakistan hoped that these efforts would lead to the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination through a credible, time-bound political process, in line with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions. This, it added, should culminate in the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
Pakistan is looking forward to being a constructive part of the Board of Peace in order to achieve the goals and bring an end to the sufferings of Palestine.
Along with Pakistan, several other countries have also received the invitation to bring a permanent end to the genocide. Reportedly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin have also received invitations to join the board.
