Three members from a family including a middle aged couple and their daughter were allegedly stabbed to death inside their abode when their son was out for a walk in Delhi’s Neb Sarai area on Wednesday.
“Three people from a house including a man, his wife and daughter, in the Neb Sarai area of South Delhi were stabbed to death. Their son-fourth member of the family had gone out for a walk. Police are present at the spot,” officials said.
“Crime team and forensic teams have been called. Prima facie, there was no ransacking or stealing of any article from the house,” the officer said.
The victims have been identified as Rajesh Kumar (51), his wife Komal (46) and their daughter Kavita (23), the police said.
As per the police, the dead bodies of these four members were discovered by the son, Arjun early morning at around 5:30 am when he returned from his morning walk.
“We came here after hearing noise. After we reach, the son told us that he went out for a morning walk and when he returned he saw, his parents and sister has been stabbed to death and blood has spanned all around. He told us that they it was their marriage anniversary and he went after wishing them. This has happened for the first time in Deoli village,” says their neighbour while talking to the News Agency, ANI
As per the police, the dead bodies of these four members were discovered by the son, Arjun early morning at around 5:30 am when he returned from his morning walk.
As per the media houses, speaking about the incident, Satish Kumar, Arjun’s maternal uncle, stated, “Rajesh was my brother-in-law. I received a call from my nephew (Arjun) about the incident. Rajesh had retired from the army and was currently working as a security officer. His daughter was a college student.” Kumar suggested that a financial dispute might be the possible motive for the attack.
The Political Reaction
Taking to the social media platform X, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal posted, “Three murders in the same house in Neb Sarai…. This is extremely painful and frightening. Every day Delhiites wake up to such frightening news”
Slamming the central government over the incident, Kejriwal added, “Homes are being destroyed, innocent lives are being lost. Those who are responsible are silently watching it happen. Will the Central government keep quiet and watch the law and order situation in Delhi collapse? Will his party still say that crime is not an issue in Delhi?”
Meanwhile, AAP legislator from Deoli, Prakash Jarwal, visited the victim’s home and spoke with Rajesh’s son. “This is a very unfortunate incident. His son asked me, ‘Who will I live for now?'” Jarwal said.
“Someone entered the house and stabbed the victims in their necks,” Jarwal added
