A drunk man was caught on tape urinating on a tribal man in Madhya Pradesh in a horrifying event.
A viral video of the act has sparked a political uproar in the state because the individual is purportedly the representative of Sidhi BJP MLA Kedarnath Shukla.
The Madhya Pradesh administration on Wednesday demolished parts of a property owned by the man.
Pravesh Shukla, supposedly the representative of Sidhi BJP MLA Kedarnath, can be seen in the video smoking a cigarette while peeing on the sitting man’s face, hair, and neck.
The incident occurred in the district’s Kubri hamlet nine days ago, and the video has already gone viral.
While images of Pravesh with Kedarnath Shukla and Rewa BJP MLA and former minister Rajendra Shukla have surfaced, the party has denied any relationship with him.
“I know him because he is from my constituency, but he is not my representative nor a BJP worker,” Kedarnath Shukla explained.
A banner claiming that Pravesh is Kedarnath Shukla’s agent has also gone viral.
According to the police, teams have been created to find Pravesh, who has been charged under the NSA, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and who is currently on the run.
Chief Minister Chouhan tweeted in Hindi, “A viral video from Sidhi district has come to my attention… I have ordered the administration to arrest the culprit and take the strictest possible action as well as invoke the National Security Act.”
Former chief minister and leader of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Kamal Nath lashed out at the state government, saying the incident had brought shame upon the whole state.
“Such obscene and heinous acts against a member of the tribal community have no place in a civilized society. The man who committed the crime is said to be from the BJP,” Mr Nath said.
“Madhya Pradesh is number one in atrocities against tribals and this incident has shamed the entire state. I demand that the chief minister ensures that the accused gets the strictest possible punishment and also that the atrocities against tribals come to an end,” he added.
Mithilesh Shukla, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rewa region), stated, “The video is allegedly from Kubri village. Teams have been organized to find Pravesh Shukla after a case was reported to the Behari police station.
“He has been charged under sections of the National Security Act, the SC/ST Act, Sections 294 (obscene act in a public place), and Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code,” he continued.
Pravesh’s uncle filed a report with the local police in Sidhi on July 1 claiming that Pravesh had been missing since June 29.
This may have been done in anticipation that the video would prompt harsh punishment for Pravesh. A fake film was created by some people to incriminate Pravesh in a fictitious case under the SC/ST Act, according to the uncle’s complaint, and he fears that Pravesh may commit suicide as a result.
Yesterday, the victim also wrote an affidavit that claimed that the video was a hoax and that it had been recorded to tie Pravesh up in a false investigation.
As per to sources, the affidavit that was purportedly written under duress has not yet been filed anywhere.
