Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Israel on Wednesday and received a warm welcome with a red carpet laid ahead. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, were also present to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their presence signalled a new momentum in bilateral ties.
It is imperative to note that the India-Israel relationship took a significant turn in July 2017 when Prime Minister Modi first visited the country.
“It’s a great honor to welcome you to Israel, Prime Minister Modi,” the Israeli prime minister said.
Netanyahu received the Indian Prime Minister with a warm embrace and handshake before a ceremonial welcome was accorded to Modi at the airport, situated about 20 kilometers southeast of Tel Aviv.
“I am extremely honored to be received by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Mrs. Netanyahu at the airport. I look forward to engaging in bilateral discussions and fruitful outcomes that strengthen the India-Israel friendship,” Modi said.
He added, “I believe that the deep friendship between us powerfully reflects on the ties between our two countries.”
“Had an excellent meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Expressed gratitude to him for the warm welcome earlier in the day. It is a delight to be back in Israel after 9 years,” Modi expressed on platform X.
“My wife, Sara, and I welcomed today our good friend, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who has arrived for another historic visit to Israel,” the Israeli prime minister said, talking on X.
“We discussed a wide range of subjects aimed at boosting bilateral ties. Sectors such as technology, water management, agriculture, talent partnership, and more offer immense scope for close collaboration. We also discussed key developments in the region,” he added.
Narendra Modi said he was confident that the visit would deepen the longstanding partnership between India and Israel while setting an ambitious new agenda for their strategic cooperation.
”India and Israel share a robust and multifaceted strategic partnership that has witnessed remarkable growth and dynamism in recent years,” Modi said.
“I look forward to my discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu aimed at further strengthening our cooperation across various domains, including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, technology, defense and security, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people ties,” he said.
