A massive explosion shook SB Organics, a chemical plant on the fringes of Chandapur village in Hatnura Mandal, Sangareddy district, Telangana. The tragedy occurred on Wednesday, April 3, when a reactor burst and engulfed the region in flames.
According to preliminary indications, at least four people have sadly died, with numerous more believed to be injured. The director of the Sangareddy enterprise, as well as six other employees, died. Approximately 25 people were seriously injured in the explosion, with numerous workers stuck in the flames.
According to senior police authorities, the bomb happened about 5 p.m., tossing individuals in its path. Rescue and relief activities are presently ongoing, with emergency personnel working to put the situation under control.
“The reactor exploded at the pharma company, and people around it were thrown away in its impact… Four people have died,” a senior police official told PTI.
Sunitha Laxma Reddy, the Narsapur MLA, and Raghunandan Rao, the BJP candidate for the Medak Parliamentary constituency, went to the blast site to examine the situation and provide help.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has offered his heartfelt sympathies to the families of the martyrs. He has urged officials to accelerate rescue operations and offer the best medical care to anyone harmed in the event.
“The CM ordered the officials of the fire department to speed up the rescue operations immediately and bring the fire under control. He also directed the district authorities to provide medical care to the injured in the accident,” the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Furthermore, Telangana Governor CP Radhakrishnan expressed his astonishment and grief at the terrible tragedy. He has directed the state government to mobilise all available resources to assist impacted people and families during this difficult period.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated, with officials emphasising the importance of stringent safety procedures in industrial facilities to prevent such tragedies in the future.
