Holiday on Jan 22, schools and other institutions to remain shut for half-day

Following the Ayodhya Ram Mandir pranpatishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024, the government has announced a half-day holiday in Delhi and the NCR cities of Gurugram, Noida, and Greater Noida. All educational institutions, central institutions and all types of shops, including liquor outlets, will remain closed.

As per the reports, the inauguration of the temple in Ayodhya will be undertaken by PM Modi as the chief, along with 7,000 people who include different politicians, industrialists, film personalities, and other famous people.

Other than Delhi, the schools will remain closed all over India. The Chhattisgarh government has announced a holiday on the event and has implemented a weekly train fare scheme for Ayodhya in remembrance of the event.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has officially announced a holiday for education institutes to honor  the day. To uphold the sanity of the ceremony, liquor will be prohibited in Haryana for the whole day.
