As many as 47.7 lakh names have been excluded from Delhi’s electoral roll, which was published on August 31 ahead of the Special Revision (SIR) exercise. However, those who are excluded from it can file for inclusion until September 30. The final roll of it is scheduled for release on 4 November 2026.
“Aggrieved persons, whose forms were not submitted, can submit their claims in Form 6 along with the Declaration form and supporting documents after the publication of Draft Roll 2026 during the period fixed for receiving claims and objections—August 31 to September 30,” said an official from the office of the Delhi chief electoral officer.
The rest of the people have been put in the category of “uncollectable” under the ASDDO—Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, and Others—categories. However, these people can seek inclusion through filling the claims and objections, the official said, and the Hindustan Times reported.
The claims and objections process is open to be availed of until September 30. However, as per the reports, the electoral registration officer would seek additional documents in case of doubts about an elector’s age or citizenship.
A list of supporting documents, which includes government or PSU employee or pensioner identity cards; documents issued by government authorities, banks, post offices, LIC, and PSUs before July 1, 1987; birth certificates; passports; matriculation or permanent residence certificates; educational certificates; NRC records (where applicable); family registers; and government-issued land or house allotment certificates, the Hindustan Times further reports.
The news reports also suggest that Rohini recorded the highest digitization rate at 83.43% and Tughlakabad showed the lowest at 52.15%. Meanwhile, Okhla recorded one of the highest proportions of voters who had their enumeration forms not digested.
Those voters who could not find their names in the draft electoral roll can submit Form 6 to take inclusion.
How to check the inclusion in the draft is also available. Step-by-step instructions are provided to search through PIC number, personal details, or registered mobile number. The election commission has outlined specific documentary requirements for various age groups and different circumstances to support claims for inclusion.
Delhi is among the 19 states and Union Territories where the voter roll revision has been done in the third phase of SIR. As many as 10% of the voters in Karnataka, 16% in Haryana, and 10.8% in Andhra Pradesh have been removed from the draft list.
