Hyderabad on High Alert After Bomb Threats Target Two International Flights

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, also known as the Hyderabad Airport, was reportedly put on high alert after the customer services received bomb threats via email on Saturday, December 6.  

The two flights that received the threats were Heathrow to Hyderabad and another from Kuwait to Hyderabad. 

Meanwhile, the flight from Heathrow to Hyderabad made a safe landing at RGI Airport at 5:25 am, and nothing was found following the search of the aircraft by the security agencies, and the Kuwait to Hyderabad flight returned to its departure airport after the threat was communicated to the crew members.

“On 6th December 2025, a Bomb threat email was received on Hyderabad airport customer support id for flight BA 277 (Heathrow to Hyderabad). The Flight landed safely in HYD at 5:25AM. Standard safety protocols were initiated,” said Hyderabad Airport GMR, news agency tweeted.

“On 6th December 2025, a Bomb threat email was received on Hyd airport customer support id for flight KU 373/ (Kuwait to Hyderabad) KWI-Hyd. The Flight returned back to departure airport,” added Hyderabad Airport GMR.

“On 5th December 2025, a bomb threat email was received on Hyderabad airport customer support id for flight AI 2879 (Delhi to Hyd). The flight landed safely in Hyd at 8:45PM. Standard safety protocols were initiated,” said Hyderabad Airport GMR.

In the run-up to the sensitive December 6 anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition, Hyderabad Police carried out a large-scale security drive called Operation Kavch, conducting extensive checks on vehicles and individuals considered suspicious.

City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar told reporters, as reported by Siasat TV, that “We conducted vehicle checks at 150 places involving about 5,000 personnel. We are checking numberless vehicles, stolen vehicles, or illegal persons or suspicious objects.”

Besides vehicle checking, foot patrolling was also carried out in important areas. Sajjanar, who visited Gulzar Houz, said
