3 FIRs registered against alleged illegal madrasas in Ghaziabad’s Khoda

Date:

Police have registered FIRs against two allegedly illegally operating madrassas in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district. The moves come ahead of sealing action, said officials on Wednesday.

The FIRs have been registered against three persons following the Khoda area madrasas who were found to be allegedly operating without approval from the minority welfare department and without valid registration, police said.

The FIR was registered on the basis of a written complaint submitted by the District Minority Welfare Officer’s office. The complaint alleged that Madrasa Ramniya Arnia Kasimul Uloom, Khoda village, was operated without recognition.

The management allegedly failed to produce a valid registration certificate of the society running the madrassa. It further alleged that no objection certificates were obtained from the fire.

Imperatively, the move comes ahead of the killing of Khoda’s 17-year-old Surya Chauhan. The deceased was stabbed by Asad and his associates on the day of Eid al Adha on May 28. As claimed by the family, Chauhan was out for Eid celebration and was later killed.

Ahead of the killing of Chauhan, on May 30, Ahead was killed in a police encounter, and his father Nawab and friends Farhan and Asif have been arrested in association with the case.

“On May 28, Asad and his aides had attacked Surya Pratap Chauhan with a knife in the Khoda area. Critically injured Surya was admitted to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (City/Trans-Hindon) Dhaval Jaiswal said.

“Five individuals were named as accused in this case. Immediately after the incident, the police arrested three of the accused, while the main accused, Asad, remained at large. Several police teams were constituted to apprehend him, and a reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for his capture,” Jaiswal said.

Additionally, a demolition notice was pasted outside his house, claiming the property to be illegal.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhawal Jaiswal said that the verification of illegal properties of Khoda Police Station is being conducted. The two madrassas were sealed ahead of this.

“FIRs have now been registered against both the madrasas, and three accused have been named. They were allegedly being run without permission from the Minority Welfare Department and without valid registration,” he said.
