A tiff over the parking of a vehicle outside a house allegedly turned violent in Telangana’s Medak district, where a Muslim family has alleged that a group of Hindu neighbors has assaulted them with sticks, leading to a severe injury to the male of the family. The family further claims that the police acted selectively by filing a case against the family members instead.
The untoward incident took place in Pothamshettipalle village in Kulcharam mandal. A place where the family has been living for approximately 20 years now.
The kin of the family, on request of anonymity, told FoEJ Media that the incident took its origin when the daughter of the family, Tameer Taranum, along with her husband Mohd. Arif and brother Mohd. Saleem, parked their Bolero vehicle outside the house.
Soon after that, their neighbor, identified as Kommula Revanth Goud, objected to the stationed vehicle. However, the kin maintained that the family was informed that they would move the vehicle shortly; the neighbors hurled abuses at the family.

Following this, Ramesh Goud and his wife, Kommula Radha, also joined the tiff, which snowballed into an altercation.
“They pushed Saleem, so he pushed them back too. There was a bit of an argument, but then the matter ended, and the vehicle was removed,” the kin told FoEJ Media.
While the matter was concluded by Mohd. Saleem, the neighbors, prepared to continue it. According to the family, about 30-35 minutes later, Kommula Ramesh Goud and Kommula Revanth Goud allegedly came back with a mob of relatives and associates armed with sticks and attacked Saleem, Arif, and the house.
“About 30–45 minutes later, they came back carrying sticks. Around 10–12 men started beating Saleem from all sides. Then Arif came to protect him, and they started beating him from all sides as well,” the Kin said.
Saleem and Arif sustained significant injuries during the attack.
“Saleem and Arif suffered injuries all over their bodies. They sustained injuries on multiple parts of their bodies, including their heads, which are swollen due to the assault,” the Kin added.
Later the mob attacked the house and vandalized it using glasses, sticks, and liquor bottles.
“A mob attacked the house from all sides, pelting it with glass bottles and liquor bottles and assaulting it with sticks,” the kin said.
According to the family, police registered a case against Saleem and Arif, who were arrested and remanded. Meantime, no action has been taken against the Kommula Revanth Goud and the mob.
The family has alleged that despite the attack, police registered a case only against Mohd Arif and Mohd Saleem, who were subsequently arrested and remanded, while no action has been taken against those accused of carrying out the assault.
In the meantime, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan learned about the incident and had talked to the family and senior police officials.
“As soon as I came to know about the incident, I spoke to Mohammed Khaja Rasheed Uddin and his family and also discussed the matter with senior police officials of Medak District. Subsequently, a written complaint was submitted to the sub-inspector of police, Kulcharam Police Station, seeking registration of a counter-case against all those involved in the attack,” Khan posted on X.
