Bihar BJP MLA, representing the Alinagar constituency in Darbhanga, in a new turn of political events, ahead of the first phase scheduled for November 6, 2025, has announced his resignation from the party on Saturday. Following his resignation, he accused the BJP party of being “anti-Dalit” and “anti-backward class.”
“Today, not only the backward Dalits but also I am being insulted; my self-respect as an MLA is being hurt. It has become difficult for me to maintain my dignity within the BJP. Because of me, the NDA won in two assembly constituencies… but the BJP has become anti-backward class.” Yadav said, addressing a press conference.
Yadav highlighted that he would formally submit his resignation to Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal.
The party has yet to issue an official response, but sources indicate that Mr. Yadav is reportedly upset over growing speculation that he might be denied a ticket this time, with the BJP possibly considering singer Maithili Thakur as its candidate from Alinagar.
“I won Alinagar for the NDA for the first time. In the past, many other candidates, with deep pockets and muscle power, had failed to do so,” said Yadav.
Yadav, who won the Alinagar seat in 2020 on a Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) ticket before switching to the BJP, has credited himself with delivering the constituency to the NDA for the first time.
