As many as eight Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip as Israel continues to violate the “ceasefire.” Among those killed was Palestinian journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz al Najjar. The confirmation comes from Gaza’s government media office without telling the location or the circumstances of the attack. As reported by Al Jazeera, Al-Najjar was the 263rd journalist killed by Israel since the October 2023 genocide.
In addition to this, on Wednesday, six people were killed by Israeli drones in the attack on a passenger van in Tal al Hawa, which is a neighborhood in southwest Gaza City.
Al Jazeera further highlights that the Palestine Red Crescent Society, which is a humanitarian group and runs ambulance and emergency services, said that its team took 13 wounded people to Al Quds Hospital.
As reported in the Wafa news, an Israeli strike hit near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza and killed at least one woman. Additionally, four Palestinians, which included two children, were also wounded when an Israeli drone hit a shelter constituted of displaced people in southern Gaza.
However, as said by the Ministry of Health, Gaza, nine bodies had arrived at hospitals over the previous 24 hours. It said that the eight people were from the recent attack, and one woman succumbed to her injuries from earlier wounds, making the number of people dead since the Israeli-Hamas “ceasefire” reach at least 1,431.
Israeli forces seriously wounded two Palestinians southeast of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, while tank fire was reported in parts of southern Khan Younis.
The reported attacks came as Gaza’s Ministry of Health said at least nine bodies had been brought to hospitals across the territory during the preceding 24 hours. The ministry’s daily figures are compiled from casualty reports received from hospitals in Gaza and provide an account of deaths recorded during the reporting period.
“There is supposed to be a ceasefire in Gaza, but the Israeli army’s violence is endless. Every day, Palestinians are killed and injured, and the humanitarian situation is deteriorating,” Al Jazeera reported.
According to the United Nations, as reported by Al Jazeera, around 82 percent of structures across Gaza, or roughly 200,000 buildings, have sustained damage since the war began. Nearly two-thirds of the affected structures have been completely destroyed, highlighting the extensive scale of destruction across the territory.
