Muslim Man Dies After Mob Attack Following Minor Accident in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh

In a shocking incident on Tuesday, 25-year-old Irshad Mohammad, a Muslim man, lost his life after being brutally assaulted by an angry mob in Luhari village, located in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The tragic event unfolded during Dussehra (Hindu Festival) night when a minor skirmish escalated into a brutal mob-attack.

The incident transpired as Irshad Mohammad’s motorcycle accidentally hit a person who was part of a group celebrating the festival of Dussehra. What began as a minor accident soon escalated into a heated verbal exchange, and the situation took a grievous turn as the altercation turned violent. A group of individuals unleashed a brutal attack on Irshad, causing him to fall to the ground and strike his head against a stone.

Irshad was immediately rushed to the local hospital, but the medical professionals, despite their efforts, declared him dead.

The police has as of now identified five people who beat Irshad Mohammed and has lodged them at the Bahadurgarh police station. The Additional Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar said,  PAC has also been deployed in the area to keep a close vigil, according to a The Hindu report. 

In the aftermath of the killing, tempers are high in the area, and the district  administration has been forced to depute additional forces to control any potential communal flare-ups. The superintendent has also said that they are currently questioning some of the suspects who are in custody.
