Ahead of escalating tension in the Middle East Yemen’s Houthi rebels conducted drone attacks on “vital targets” in Israel’s Tel Aviv. The operations reportedly achieved their goals as the drones hit their targets, the Houthis said.
The Drone Air Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting a vital target in the Yaffa area “Tel Aviv” in occupied Palestine using several Yaffa drones. The operation successfully achieved its goals, with the drones reaching their targets without the enemy being able to intercept or down them,” said the statement by Houthis.
The armed forces claimed the attack, which was part of its fifth phase of the “Battle of the Promised Conquest”, was in support of the people of Palestine and Lebanon, and Hamas “Al-Aqsa Flood”.
Houthi rebels, who control most of Yemen and consider Israel their enemy, joined the conflict in support of Hamas after the Middle East war erupted last year. They are part of Iran’s “Axis of Resistance” against Israel and the United States.
The Houthis have fired multiple missiles at Israeli cities, while Israel has conducted airstrikes in Yemen, targeting key infrastructure such as power plants. Sea ports used by Houthi rebels to transport Iranian weapons have also been attacked recently.
“Battle of the Promised Conquest”
Battle of the promised conquest refers to a movement associated with Yemeni resistance groups, specifically the Houthis. The movement backs Palestine and opposes Western influence in the Middle East.
“Al- Aqsa Flood”
The “Al Aqsa Flood” is a military operation launched by Hamas on October 7, 2023. It was initiated by the Al- Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, as a response to Israel particularly regarding actions at the Al Aqsa Mosque.
