Nashik TCS Controversy: Nida Khan to Seek Anticipatory Bail Amid SIT Probe

Date:

In the Nashik TCS controversy, Nida Khan, allegedly the main “mastermind” behind the case alleging sexual harassment and religious coercion at Tata Consultancy Services, is preparing to approach a court for anticipatory bail.
Khan is currently in Mumbai and expecting her first child, leading to a delay in filing her anticipatory bail application. “The application is in process and will be filed soon,” her legal counsel said.

Meanwhile, verification for her medical condition is underway as part of the investigation handled by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Family Denies Allegations, Disputes Role

The family told Hindustan Times that Khan has been framed and dismissed claims that she was involved in the controversy or that she is a senior HR official at the company.

“She has never been part of the HR team. She is a tele-caller in the sales department,” a family member told Hindustan Times.

They further denied claims that she was the HR head and called them false and misleading. The family said Khan holds a junior tele-caller position in the sales department with three seniors above her.

Khan’s kin also said no police team has approached them in the matter and added that they know about her whereabouts, stressing that she is not absconding deliberately.

Allegations in the Case

The case names Khan for alleged religious harassment. However, the complainant does not accuse her of sexual misconduct.

The case stems from a complaint by a 23-year-old employee. She alleged sexual harassment by a colleague. She said he established a relationship on the pretext of marriage.

The 23-year-old said some employees made objectionable religious statements about her beliefs. She said they tried to influence others. She also accused Khan of being present during these incidents.

SIT Probe and FIR Details

The Special Investigation Team is examining the case, complaint logs, and other facts. Officials say they will verify the claims through evidence.

Authorities have registered multiple FIRs under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These include charges related to sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments. Police have arrested seven employees so far.
