The election expenditure fillings of the BJP states that Rs 529.39 crore is reported expenditure across Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and West Bengal for the 2026 Assembly elections as reported by the NDTV.
As per the reports, West Bengal accounted for Rs 286.99 crore, which is more than half of the BJP’s reported expenditure across five contests. The BJP in West Bengal reported Rs. 266.99 crore in expenditure, while the Congress reported Rs. 27.65 crore, the difference being Rs. 259.34 crore.
When seen in Kerala, the BJP reported Rs. 82.67, while Congress reported Rs. 27.67 crore, the NDTV further reported. The difference being Rs. 55 crore, and the Congress won 63 seats while the BJP won three.
According to the National Herald, Assam accounted for the next largest share of spending, amounting to Rs. 96.26 crore, which is followed by Kerala at Rs. 82.67 crore and Tamil Nadu at 51.56 crore.
It further highlighted that during the election period, the BJP reported receipts of about Rs. 1,494 crore.

As per NDTV, the BJP reported Rs. 51.56 crore and the DMK reported Rs. 193.60 crore in Tamil Nadu. The difference was Rs. 142.14 crore, and the BJP won one seat, the DMK won 59, and TVK won 108.
While in Puducherry, the BJP reported Rs 11.09 crore and the DMK Rs 1.95 crore. The difference in this was Rs 9.95 crore. The BJP won four seats, the DMK won five, and AINRC won 12.
Across the supplied filings, the BJP reported a total expenditure of Rs 529.39 crore. The corresponding figures were Rs 197.85 crore for the DMK, Rs 112.40 crore for the AIADMK, Rs 95.52 crore for the Congress and Rs 39.04 crore for the CPI(M).
The India Express stated that while candidates are subject to limits on election expenditure, political parties can spend without a prescribed overall cap on campaigning. After each election, parties are required to submit detailed expenditure statements covering expenses such as travel, rallies, advertisements, and campaign materials.
