Nuh Mewat, 31 July, 2023: As a result of the violent fights that broke out between two communities on Monday during a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) gathering in Haryana’s Nuh district, internet connections have been suspended and Section 144 has been implemented.

Following the purported attendance of Monu Manesar, a well-known cow vigilante and Bajrang Dal member who is sought for the murder of two men in Rajasthan, during the VHP gathering, tensions reached a boiling point. According to reports, his presence incited resentment among neighborhood residents.

According to reports, tension has increased along the Gurugram-Alwar National Highway near Nuh city as a result of stone-throwing during the “Shobha Yatra.”

Section 144 Imposed in the area

A number of vehicles, both public and private, were set on fire. Stones were also thrown at the police. To stop the incident, the cops also opened fire. According to the most recent reports, there are still occasional events being reported at various locations, and the overall atmosphere in the area is still tense. Due to the gravity of the situation, Nuh’s internet service has been suspended and Section 144 has been implemented.

Over a thousand police officers have been sent to the city to handle the situation. Additionally, authorities have given locals instructions to remain in their houses through loudspeakers. Palwal, Faridabad, and Rewari adjacent districts’ police forces have been quickly called in. Following the incident, police organized a flag march.

Apparently in response to the violence, businesses near Tiranga Park stopped their doors. The bustling main market, Naya Bazar, Gali Bazar, and Hodal Bypass were among the stores in Nuh City that shut down as the intensity increased. Black smoke that covered the streets was seen. The Braj Mandal (Mewat) Jalabhishek Yatra, organized by the Yuva Shakti Bajrang Dal of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, began in Nalhad Mahadev Temple at 10:00 am and would end at Shringar Temple, Punhana, according to a previous statement from the VHP.

The primary cause of violence was, Monu Manesar video and his visit.

Violence erupted in response to news of a cow vigilante and the culprit in the Bhiwani killings case, Monu Manesar, visiting Mewat.

Monu Manesar, is a murder suspect who has been missing for the past five months, came under the police’s radar after he posted a video earlier in the day that appeared to show him participating in the yatra. A police squad from Bharatpur in Rajasthan was dispatched to Nuh to make the arrest.

For the February kidnapping and murder of Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35) both residents of Ghatmeeka village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, Monu Manesar, a self-proclaimed cow defender, is wanted. On February 7, a case was opened against him at the Pataudi police station. The Gurugram police in Haryana carried out searches earlier this year to find him in connection with the attempted murder case.

The incident underscores the sensitivity of communal tensions and the importance of maintaining law and order.
