The post-mortem report of the trainee physician who was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital reveals extensive genital injuries resulting from “perverted sexuality” and “genital torture,” as per the reports. The victim was reportedly strangled and then suffocated, with additional trauma including a broken thyroid cartilage from the strangulation, and injuries to her abdomen, lips, fingers, and left leg.
Details of the Brutality
The report further details the brutality of the attack, noting that the assailant struck her with such force that her glasses shattered, causing glass shards to wound her eyes. The woman’s body was found in the hospital’s seminar hall, where she had gone to rest during her night shift. Sanjoy Roy, a civic volunteer and welfare unit member of the Kolkata Police, has been arrested in connection with the crime.
Details of the Injuries
Injuries were found on her belly, lips, fingers, and left leg. Sources said the victim’s nose and mouth were clamped, and her head was pushed against a wall to prevent her from screaming.
The mouth and throat were constantly pressed to prevent screaming. The throat was strangled to suffocate. The thyroid cartilage broke due to strangling,” the postmortem report said.
The report also mentioned that the woman was bleeding from both eyes, mouth and private parts. The report said the wounds in her private parts were caused by “perverted sexuality” and “genital torture”. However, the reason for her eye wound has not been determined yet.
The victim was throttled before being smothered to death. Her thyroid cartilage was found to be broken because of the strangulation.
The rape and murder took place between 3 am and 5 am on August 9.
A police official told the agency that Sanjoy Roy liked watching disturbing and violent porn clips. He was married four times and was a womaniser, the officer added.

Sanjoy Roy’s mother has said her son is innocent and is being framed.Sanjoy Roy is a trained boxer. He was posted to the police outpost at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
However according to the details, After allegedly committing the crime, Sanjoy Roy went back to his barracks and slept for several hours, said the police. After he woke up, he washed his clothes to erase evidence of his crime.
