Seven Cattle Traders Attacked with Wooden Logs in Maharashtra

Seven men, including a 62-year-old man, were allegedly brutally beaten up by unidentified men with wooden logs while transporting cattle in Maharashtra’s Jalna district.  The brutal attack took place on October 6, and a case was registered the following day.  The incident occurred on Monday, October 6, and a case was registered the following day.

The victims who fell prey to the incident have been identified as Nisar Patel, Asif Shaikh, Riyaz Qureshi, Sajid Pasha, Asif Sadiq, Javed Qureshi, and Sayyed Parvez. As per the reports, the men had legally purchased the cattle from the Wadod Bazaar in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and were transporting them for agricultural purposes.

The vehicle loaded with cattle was attacked by around 20 unidentified persons. “We showed them all the documents proving that the bulls were meant for farming, but they accused us of cow slaughter and began beating us mercilessly,” Patel said, as reported by the Observer Post

Patel further claims that the attackers continued to assault them even after the arrival of the police. 

“How can police mention ‘unidentified persons’ when we were attacked right in front of them?” he said, as reported by Maktoob Media

Meanwhile, police have denied Patel’s statement, labeling the incident as an “internal party dispute.”
