A 12-year-old Muslim boy was found brutally murdered in a field in Bhantabari village, which falls under the Choraut police station limit in the Sitamrhi district, Bihar. Taufiq’s lifeless body was discovered by the villagers on 19th June, but the incident came to light when the video of it travelled on the internet.
The visuals circulating on the internet also show devastating families mourning the loss.
On talking to FoEJ Media, the family described the barbaric crime, revealing that he had suffered multiple injuries, with knife marks and head crushed with bricks.
Furthermore, suspicions have also emerged about burning the body through pouring acid all over it.
The gruesome crime ignited outrage, with Taufiq’s mother renaming in shock by the incident.
“I don’t understand anything right now. I’m not in a condition to say anything. “My son has been killed,” she said, talking to FOEJ Media.
“I don’t know why they killed him. They took his life,” the family member said. she added.
Meantime, his father alleged that the murder was orchestrated by the villagers.
“He was murdered by people from the village. They beat him with bricks,” the family member alleged,” he said, heavily crying.
According to the reports, relatives suggest that the murder may have been associated with his relationship with a Hindu girl.
Reports also suggest that acid had been poured on Taufiq’s body.
“He was attacked with a knife, and acid was later poured on him,” the family member alleged.
However, Sitamarhi Superintendent of Police Amit Ranjan refuted the claim, saying that there was no evidence indicating the use of acid. Further information is underway.
As of the date of publishing this article, police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder of Taufiq.
Senior officers said that several teams have been deployed to track down the remaining accused. Investigators are also collecting forensic evidence and recording statements from witnesses to establish the sequence of events leading to the killing.
