Two Trainee Army Officers Attacked, their Women Friend Raped in Madhya Pradesh

In a tragic move event two young army officers were brutally assaulted and their friend was gang raped at gunpoint in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The assaulters reportedly appeared to have attacked upon the group with the intention of robbing them.

According to the latest details, the police have arrested two of the attackers, one of whom was found to have a criminal record.The incident took place when two trainee officers had gone with two women friends near the firing range at Chhoti Jam in the afternoon.

They were suddenly surrounded by eight men armed with pistols, knives and sticks. The men beat up the officers and women followed by robbing them of their money and belongings.

The situation intensified when the assailants seized an officer and a woman as hostages, instructing another officer and woman to retrieve a ₹10 lakh ransom. In a state of panic, the officer raced back to his unit and reported the incident to his commanding officer, who immediately notified the police. A joint team of police and military personnel rushed to the scene, but the attackers fled upon spotting the incoming vehicles.

In the car at Gunpoint

According to The Times of India, which cited the complaint filed by one of the officers, the attackers held the pair they had attacked in the car hostage at gunpoint.The Army officers and their female friends were brought to Mhow civil hospital, where a medical examination confirmed that one of the women was raped.

The Times of India reported that a case has been registered under sections 70 (gangrape), 310-2 (dacoity), 308-2 (extortion) and 115-2 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under sections of the Arms Act based on the complaint filed by the officer.

Meanwhile, according to the reports of The Indian Express, one of those detained has a case of loot lodged against him in 2016.

“We arrested two men. One of them has a case of loot registered against him in 2016. This was not an organized gang. They saw these young people who had gathered at a night spot and decided to attack them. One person also had a pistol on him,” Vasal said.
