Cockroach Janta Party said that they will not leave Jantar Mantar until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post.
The announcement comes from the CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka while addressing the crowd at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday. He added that the organization has achieved two of its goals, which include awakening a country that had forgotten to ask questions from the government.
Our movement has already achieved two victories. We have awakened a country that had forgotten how to ask questions—a nation where criticizing the government or questioning it was deemed an act of treason—and now, that very country is raising questions, Rana said.
A day prior to the announcement, Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh met Sonam Wangchuk at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.
Amidst the massive protest today at Jantar Mantar, the security forces used tear gas shells to disperse thousands of supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The protestors gathered in Delhi to march to the Parliament on the first day of the monsoon session on Monday.
The police reportedly used sticks and batons to disperse the crowd who came together at the protest sites for the “Chalo Sansad” march following the alleged paper leak in NEET, leading to a demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
However, the Delhi Police post on X read, “Some segments from media have mentioned sporadic use of violence/detentions at Jantar Mantar by Delhi Police. It is informed that no such incident has taken place and the protest is being handled professionally. All are requested not to fall prey to any rumors/misgivings and to assist Delhi Police in maintaining peace and public order at and around the site.”
Meanwhile, hospital sources said that at least 60 injured people were brought in during the day. Of them, 25 were admitted, while one person was reported to be in critical condition.
