Elon Musk has reportedly been accused of having sex with a SpaceX employee and a former intern and asked a woman at his company to have his babies.
Reportedly detailed text exchanges between Musk and a woman who worked at SpaceX, showing repeated invitations to his house at night have been revealed. Despite these allegations, SpaceX and Musk’s lawyers have dismissed the report, stating that it was full of “untruths.”
Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s president and COO, defended Musk, saying, “The untruths, mischaracterizations, and revisionist history in your email paint a completely misleading narrative. I continue to be amazed by what this extraordinary group of people are achieving every day even amidst all the forces acting against us. And Elon is one of the best humans I know.”
In a report, the Wall Street Journal said the tech billionaire created a culture in his companies – both SpaceX and Tesla – which made the women employees uncomfortable. These allegations are the latest in a series of charges against Musk, who has previously been accused of using drugs such as LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, mushrooms, and ketamine, sometimes with board members
In another incident, women employees at Tesla claimed that they were shown “an unusual amount of attention or pursued” by Musk. Meanwhile, a SpaceX flight attendant had alleged that the tech billionaire exposed himself to her and offered to buy her a horse in exchange for sex in 2016.
A former female employee who left SpaceX in 2013 claimed that Musk repeatedly asked her to have his children. Tesla CEO, who has at least 10 children, has expressed concerns about underpopulation and has stated that individuals with high IQs should have children,
Musk has also been accused of nurturing a “holistic work culture,” where jokes about sex were very common and women employees were reportedly paid less salary than the men and workers who complained were fired.
In addition to this, it has reportedly been claimed that a woman who worked at SpaceX received repeated invitations from Musk to come to his house at night.
In another incident, Rocket maker SpaceX and its CEO Elon Musk were sued on Wednesday by eight engineers who claim they were illegally fired for raising concerns about alleged sexual harassment and discrimination against women.
What was the lawsuit against Musk?
“Musk knowingly and purposefully created an unwelcome hostile work environment based upon his conduct of interjecting into the workplace vile sexual photographs, memes, and commentary that demeaned women and/or the LGBTQ+ community,” the eight former employees wrote in the filing. “It was also common for engineers to apply crude and demeaning names to products in an attempt at humor, often at the expense of women and LGBTQ+ individuals. For example, the name ‘Upskirt Camera’ was used for a camera on the first stage of the Falcon rocket that views the bottom of the second stage,” they further added.
According to a Bloomberg report, the filing further claims that the former SpaceX engineers that Musk made the decision to fire them in retaliation for the open letter that they wrote in 2022, highlighting Musk’s “problematic behavior”. The complaint claims that when a SpaceX HR official suggested that the company conduct a formal investigation before taking any decisive action, Musk replied, “I don’t care — fire them.”
